Kumbhalgarh Fort History
Kumbargarh is a famous tourist destination of India, Situated in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan near Udaipur. This place is located in the southern part of the state and is also known as Kumbhal Fort. Kumbhalgarh fort is the second largest fort in Rajasthan after Chittorgarh fort and one of the most important sites of this state.
This fort was built by Rana Kumbha of Sisodia Rajput dynasty in 15th century, he was the Rana of Mewar. This fort was constructed under the supervision of of the most expert architecture of Mewar named Madan. Situated among the eleven peaks of the Aravalli ranges, this fort represents a unique and high level of architectural technology of the time.
Its strategic position atop a high ridge trampled by the surrounding peaks has made it one of the most important and perhaps the only impregnable fort in the state.

Kumbhalgarh fort built on the Alavalli ranges at an altitude of 1,100 m above sea level is famous for its tall and long walls. Its perimeter walls extend to 36 km, making it the second longest wall in the world. Kumbhalgarh has seven fortified gates and its frontal walls are 15 feet thick.
The fort’s well-constructed architecture has made it a Rajput-dominated Abode Fort. While walking on the ramparts of the fort, you can feel the royal history of Kumbhalgarh Fort, which is enough for 8 horses to walk.
