Best Time To Visit
Usually, Char Dham Yatra starts in April or May. The temperature ranges from 15°C to 30°C, making it ideal for trekking and outdoor activities. Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham both fall on the same pilgrimage route. The same Kedarnath and Badrinath fall on the second pilgrimage route. It is important to note that the Char Dham Yatra route is closed during winter due to heavy snowfall, and the area remains inaccessible. Char Dham Yatra Registration or E-Pass
It is impossible to do Char Dham Yatra without registration or obtaining an e-pass. The registration process can be done online through the official website of Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board, Government of Uttarakhand. Only after registration can you go for Char Dham Yatra. Yatra registration requires personal details such as name, address, contact number, ID proof and travel details. After registration, an e-pass will be issued, which you can carry during the journey.

By Road:-
Delhi → Haridwar → Dehradun → Barkot → Yamunotri → Barkot → Uttarkashi → Gangotri → Uttarkashi → Guptkashi → Sonprayag → Kedarnath → Guptkashi → Joshimath → Badrinath → Rishikesh → Delhi
By Train:-
Delhi → Rishikesh, after Rishikesh you can follow the road route for Char Dham Yatra.
By Air:-
Delhi → Dehradun → Yamunotri → Barkot → Uttarkashi → Gangotri → Uttarkashi → Guptkashi/ Phata → Kedarnath → Guptkashi → Badrinath → Dehradun → Delhi
Char Dham Yatra Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar
Arrive in Delhi and drive towards Haridwar. Visit Har Ki Pauri and attend the evening Ganga Aarti. Night stay in Haridwar.
Day 2: Departure from Haridwar to Barkot
From Haridwar, proceed towards Barkot. On the way, visit Mussoorie and Kempty Falls. Night stay at Barkot.
Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri and back
Departure from Barkot to Janki Chatti, the base camp of Yamunotri. Trek from Janaki Chatti to Yamunotri Temple. Trek back to Janki Chatti and return to Barkot for overnight stay.
Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi
From Barkot proceed towards Uttarkashi. Night stay in Uttarkashi.
Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi
Depart from Uttarkashi and proceed towards Guptkashi. On the way, visit Tehri Dam and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayas. Night stay in Guptkashi.
Day 6: Guptkashi to Kedarnath and back
Early morning departure for Kedarnath from Guptkashi. Visit Kedarnath Temple. Return to Guptkashi for a night stay.
Day Seven: Guptkashi to Badrinath
Depart from Guptkashi and proceed towards Badrinath. In the evening visit Badrinath Temple and attend the evening aarti. Night stay in Badrinath.
Day Eight: Badrinath to Rudraprayag
Depart from Badrinath and proceed towards Rudraprayag. On the way, visit Narasimha Temple and Vishnu Prayag. Night stay at Rudraprayag.
Day 9: Rudraprayag to Rishikesh
Depart from Rudraprayag and proceed toward Rishikesh. Attend the evening Ganga Aarti in Rishikesh. Night stay in Rishikesh.
Day 10: Rishikesh to Delhi
Depart from Rishikesh and proceed toward Delhi. Arrive in Delhi in the evening and conclude the Char Dham Yatra.
